She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
Fin was correct, Dora was far too busy with her decadent holiday lifestyle to notice a few new pictures around their waterfront hut. There wasn’t much time to notice much of anything between scheduled leisure activities for the pair and Dora’s extra-curricular ones. She had only woken up alone once since they had arrived on the island nearly two weeks ago and that was probably for the best as she didn’t have her little Mimi to ward off the bad dreams at night, as she had become accustomed. She would never say as much aloud, but the only time Dora even missed Mimi was at night. The holiday adventures she had planned for Fin and herself were too exciting to be homesick but when things settled down for the evening – or early morning as it sometimes was – the darkness would inevitably set in. Instead of snuggling up with her furry little pooch at night she settled for a handsome wizard who’s name she may or may not have known.
It was comforting not being alone and she hadn’t thought anything of it until Fin’s remark as they stepped onto the dancefloor. His serious expression making her momentarily regret the night before that she’d spent in the arms of another guest who Dora called ‘Kol’ because she couldn’t pronounce his much longer, very foreign name. Kol’s bungalow was down the beach several hundred yards from their own, and she’d had too much to drink to make the walk home safely that night. Kol teased that she would stumble into the ocean and drown but he also didn’t offer to walk her back to her own hut, so she’d slept in his bed and had a little fun with him in the morning before retuning home to shower. Looking at Fin now, perhaps she had ought to focus the remainder of her trip on spending more quality time with her best mate. She smiled. “Never.” Giving his cheek a quick peck, she left a soft pink imprint of her lipstick on his skin.
“But there’s no way in Hades you’re a better dancer than me,” she cooed, knowing for a fact she was right. Dora was absolutely wretched at so many things but moving her body was not one of them. Granted, she was much more skilled at doing the hustle than salsa-ing – if that was what you called it – but Dora was confident that after tonight’s lesson she could add salsa dancing to her resume. Strappy black heels raised Dora up enough that resting her left hand on his shoulder was comfortable as Fin took her right hand in his left. The instructors moved around the room as the couples rocked back and forth, some looking down at their feet to avoid stepping on their partners and receiving a gentle reminder to stay connected with their dance partner. Dora needed no such reminder. She teased Fin as they moved, batting her eyelids at him and claiming she would receive more compliments than him from the instructors.

Walking on Sunshine Dora may have been right about being the better dancer, but there was no way Fin was going to admit it, not now, not ever. Besides, he could move with the best of them, and he felt more than confident as he spun Dora around, hips swaying, feet copying the steps they were being shown, and all without a single drop of alcohol. Yes, he was having such a good time that he had forgotten that he'd been excited about the drinking part, too. The compliments were flowing from the instructors, and it was hard to keep track of who they thought was doing a better job, but Fin didn't need their validation, he was ready for the stage. He was ready for the West End, for the spotlight and sparkles. For fame and stardom. Well, maybe not, but he'd be using these moves in his club, and probably far too often. He scooped Dora up, trying a simple lift they had been shown, and lost his balance a little bit, wobbling, eyes wide as he looked at Dora with a laugh. "I'm gonna drop youuuu!" he teased, exaggerating the wobble and stumbling around dramatically with her in his arms. He swung her around and planted her down on a table of refreshments, still laughing. "We should have done this at home a long time ago, it's brilliant," he gushed, helping himself to a drink which turned out to be firewhiskey, and burned his parched throat. Coughing, he spluttered a bit, and grabbed a glass of clear liquid, thinking it was water. A large gulp of the stuff made him cough more. Vodka. "Holy shit, where's the water!?" he cried, checking out the rest of the table's contents and finding nothing but snacks and more alcohol. Desperate, he pulled out his wand and went back to the firewhiskey, calling on his old transfiguration habits from school. He had often turned water into firewhiskey, but now it was time to do it in reverse. Merlin, adulthood was boring sometimes. Watching the liquid change from amber to crystal clear, he took a tentative sip this time, relieved to find that it was indeed water, and finished the whole cup in one. Who the fuck didn't have water at a dance class? _______________________ tag: Euphadora Rose Parkinson words: 405 notes: <3 outfit: Still sexy and half naked all the time. [googlefont="Allura"]

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
A sober evening together was something they’d not had on this holiday thus far and if there was going to be a night where Dora didn’t feel the need to drink or cozy up to an attractive man, this would have been it. Their competition of best dancer was neck and neck as they stepped forwards and back, the sway in her hips catching the eye of several onlookers, and not just because she was covered head to toe in glittery sparkles. Fin fit perfectly around her as he guided her around the dancefloor, their bodies in sync with one another with very little effort. If only she was attracted to him, they would have made such a perfect couple but despite Fin being admittedly gorgeous and the pair having snogged previously on occasion, Dora simply couldn’t imagine them ever being an item. They were far too comfortable with each other and she knew way too much about him for there to ever be enough mystery between them to keep the romance alive. She could never be as vulnerable with a boyfriend as she was with Fin, and who would she run to, to bitch about her relationship if they were dating? Plus, the idea of dating her best friend gave her the willies, at least while sober. Ask again after she’d had a few martinis and the answer might have been different.
Light as a feather, Fin lifted Dora off the ground. She was as graceful as ever despite Fin’s wobble. Another point in her favor. “Don’t you dare!” she scolded him playfully as he teased her with the idea of dropping her. He set her safely down on the refreshments table and let go of her waist. Taking advantage of her position, she crossed one leg over the other and pressed her hands against the table beside her, leaning back for a moment as she caught her breath and listened to him speak. “I’d bet you could get someone to do lessons at Starlight during the day. Turn a little extra profit and get to throw me around a bit more.” She gave a smug little smile. “My admission would be on the house, of course.” She was unable to finish her thoughts as Fin had just taken a rather large swig of something he was not expecting to be alcohol – was his sense of smell going or just his eyes? A decorative sign levitating against the wall above the table clearly listed out the items on offer. Dora laughed at his second attempt at a refreshing drink failed and he had to resort to magic to get a glass of water. She reached for the glass of vodka he was clearly not going to be finishing and took a sip. “So dramatic,” she cooed tauntingly.

Walking on Sunshine Dora's suggestion of him hosting dance classes at the Starlight was actually pretty appealing. He could just see it now, maybe on weekdays, or weekend mornings, the dance floor lit up for the class, people twirling and shimmying their way around the place. Hot girls lacking partners turning up wanting to learn, but needing him to jump in and partner them for the lesson. It looked perfect, as far as he could see, and it would put more Galleons in his pocket to pay for fabulous holidays like this one. "Dora, you are a genius. I'm gonna do it," he said, eyes twinkling with excitement. "As soon as we get back, I'm setting it up. You can help me find dance teachers." Only the best would do for the Starlight, he had a reputation to uphold, but he would get the best dance instructors in the country and it would be a huge success, he could feel it in his bones. Though that might have been an exhausted ache from dancing for so long. He moved closer to Dora with his water, watching the other dancers who were all rubbish compared to himself and Dora. "I know we've spent a bit of time apart," he began, "but have you had a good holiday?" He hoped she had. He hoped she hadn't been sleeping around because she was just lonely and he was absent, that would have sucked. He still would have gone bed hopping himself, but maybe a little bit less if she'd have said anything about needing him to keep her company more. Guilt wasn't one of his favourite emotions, but he felt a twinge of something at the thought, and hoped it wasn't necessary. She'd have told him. She was Dora, she was honest with him all of the time, she'd have said something. "I can't believe it's almost time to go home, it feels like we haven't been here long at all," he mused, failing to mention that he was actually ready to go home. He really was. He was getting stir crazy stuck on an island for so long, and though there had been an influx of new holiday makers at the beginning of the week - and thus, new play things - it was getting boring. He wanted his own bed, and his other friends, and his job. _______________________ tag: Euphadora Rose Parkinson words: 417 notes: <3 outfit: Still sexy and half naked all the time. She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
Auditioning dance instructors for the nightclub would be fun, she thought. Not only would they need to be skilled in their profession, but there would be a certain physical requirement for a place as posh as Starlight. Dora would never let a bunch of cows turn away potential clients, on the contrary, attractive instructors would draw a bigger crowd. It was the same reason all the bartenders were impossibly good looking. Dora and the other staff were not only charged with making drinks, but also flirting and making sure people continued to return to the bar all night long. After a certain number of drinks, you could drink piss and hardly notice but if that pretty raven haired bartender smiled at you, stroked your arm, and laughed at your attempt at a joke, the possibility of getting laid would keep you going back over and over again. It would be the same technique with any staff Fin hired on, and as Dora thought about the additional business opportunity her friend was considering, her eyes drifted over to the handsome instructor on the other side of the room.
“The best time,” she answered truthfully. Were it up to Dora, she’d spend another three weeks on this island taking full advantage of the carefree lifestyle she had once been accustomed to when she was younger. The Parkinson’s holidays were never quite this lavish and Dora had barely seen the world beyond anywhere that Fin had dragged her along to, but a week of spoiled freedom was something she missed. There were no bills to worry about on the island, no catty witches to pretend to be better than, and no stressors to evoke one of her attacks. Not even once while they were on the island had Dora eve thought about cutting herself. Her episodes were fewer and farther between now that she had Mimi, but she still thought about harming herself several times a month. She hadn’t even realized until this very moment, as she sat on the refreshments table and watched the dancing and fumbling bodies on the dance floor, that she’d not had any reason to feel overwhelmed or anxious enough to need to slice her flesh open. “It’s gone too quickly,” she remarked. “I’m going to loathe leaving when the time comes.” And the time was fast approaching.
