Starlight New Year A new start Half a chance in life to find a new part Just a simple role that I can play
602 words Mood: Starstruck “ Christine stood at the doorway.
A song with a heavy beat seemed to announce her arrival, but she was too concerned with the glamourous sight before her. It was quite easily the most beautiful club she ever hoped to work in. Even without the trimmings, Christine could tell the structure was gorgeous and would be beautiful on a regular day as it was jaw-dropping for their New Year event. The café wouldn’t have held a candle to the place, not that she would have compared them.
She felt a familiar pang in her heart whenever the café, Tony, or Wes was brought to mind, every time she thought she couldn’t hurt any more she was mistaken. She was shaken out of her reverie by another couple wanting to enter the club.
She moved forward, but again seemed to move without purpose and found herself in the middle of the dance floor her eyes scanning the crowd.
The club, as beautiful as it was, had nothing on the beautiful people within. Was every person here a model? Christine had no real doubts about her own attractiveness, but her dress had been the most expensive thing she owned aside from the sapphire engagement ring she wore, and it had been magically mended several times over – not that you could tell.
The rest of her trappings were high quality show pieces she’d worn during performances. Everything was shiny and magically preserved to keep said shine, but she knew the men and women in the club were likely wearing the real thing. That only made Christine a little self-conscious, but not much. She didn’t want to be part of the elite. She just wanted to sing for them, and then blend in otherwise.
Perhaps it was a risky move attempting to work in such a place, but over the past year and a half Christine had grown frustrated with the safe game. If someone was after her, maybe it was time for whoever it was to catch her. She was tired of running.
It was a new year. That was supposed to mean something, new beginnings, a new life. She needed one of those.
She took the moment to study the band, wondering if that was the regular crew or if they were filling in for the evening only. She hoped it was the regular crew as the man on the piano had dancing fingers and a passion to match.
She needed to stop looking so lost, but this was a different world to her. She was worried that someone at any moment would call her a fraud and drag her out of there, and she needed a job.
She didn’t need to worry. Even with a magically mended dress, she looked jaw-dropping herself with a plunging neckline and white silk wrapping around her lithe frame, hugging her hips in the best way possible. Years on a stage taught her how to stand and how to attract attention almost unconsciously. For all her internal struggle and unease, Christine appeared almost aloof, but there was a certain mystery as well.
She wouldn’t know it, but this is where she belonged. The Sayres and the DuBois were no strangers to fabulous parties, high society, and obscene wealth. For someone who had spent most of her memorable youth wondering who she was and where she fit in, she was now closer than ever to “her” people.
Christine scanned the room once more in an inconspicuous way. She needed to find the manager and assess what kind of person they were. This was a recon mission. She needed a job.

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
Livia had been smart to come to the Starlight over whatever stuffy party the rest of her family were attending. Mainly, Dora felt that way because she hadn’t been invited to said party. Dora received very few invitations to the elite parties her parents had once taken her and her brother to when they were younger. With the Parkinson name having been run through the mud after her father’s embezzlement scandal and consequent murder, Dora was lucky that Fin even bothered dragging her along whenever he was without a proper date. The Parkinsons were pure but they now were also poor and in some eyes that made them barely better than muggles. Dora knew it wouldn’t always be that way for her. She didn’t know how she was going to get back up but she would and she would have Livia and Fin at her side. “That’s a shame,” Dora called over her shoulder as she took the last step of the circular staircase and stepped onto the dancefloor. “My time for convincing your brother to leave his fiancée for me so we can be sisters is running out.” She laughed, scanning the crowd, her gaze repeatedly drawn back to Kit and his brother.
“It is! Oh, he looks miserable, doesn’t he? Let’s go cheer him up.” The petite pixie gave an impish smirk as she looked at her tall blonde friend. “I’ll bet you five knuts I can get him on the dance floor before he runs off.” Dora grinned devilishly as she pulled on Livia’s wrist to get her to follow, and weaved the short distance to where Kit and Ollie were standing. Dora had had a crush on Kit for quite a few years, though she played it off as the regular sort of flirting she did with most any guy. But Kit was special. He had rescued her when she had been caught in the Death Eaters’ attack and he actually bothered to check up on her while she recovered. She literally owed Kit her life. On top of all that he was sodding gorgeous, smart, a trained fighter. On several occasions Dora had pictured doing all manner of naughty things to Mr Devereaux but he was far too skittish to entertain any of it. The idea of getting him dancing was both enticing and humorous.
“Kit-kat!” Dora came up to him from the side, the fringe on the hem of her skirt bouncing as she pranced forward. She flung herself on Kit, wrapping her arms around his shoulders as she stood on tiptoes to reach him and forced a kiss on his cheek. “I didn’t know you lot were coming, I would have dressed up if I’d been warned.” Silver sequins hit the light at just the right angle to make Dora sparkle from head to toe.
Dora turned to Kit’s little brother Oliver and smiled. “Clearly this is your doing. You’re going to have to give me pointers on how to get this one out to a club without ties and gags.” She gave Kit a small wink as she mentioned bondage. Dora gave a quarter turn and gestured to the blonde that she had dragged along with her. “This is my friend Liv. Have you met? Liv, this is Ollie. Kit’s baby brother.” Dora threaded her arm around Kit’s as she introduced her friend.

Starlight New Year Around ten minutes passed while the pair lost themselves in the music, though it felt like much longer.`Heat was washing over him in that bloody suit, and he wanted to just rip it off, open his shirt, and get a cool drink, but he couldn't. He'd just have to suffer. Well, that, and stop dancing, that would help. Slowing near the end of the song, he leaned his head down near Jovi's so she'd be able to hear him over the noise. "Let's go and get your drink," he called, offering his arm for her to link and escorting her through the crowds towards the bar. He didn't have a clue what had been in the drink her boyfriend had brought for her, but he didn't fancy her having it back. Call it overcautious since there was no way it could have been spiked where he'd levitated it to, or call it petty because he didn't like the guy or want Jovi to have anything he'd gotten her, but he gave a subtle flick of his wand at his side where she wouldn't see, and the glass emptied where it sat on the shelf. Satisfied, he caught the attention of one of the bar staff, a young blonde girl who was actually more sensible and hard working than her pigtails would have her appear. "Leila, can you please serve my friend tonight," he told her, a command, not a request. "Drinks are on the house, get her anything she wants, but nothing free for that guy," he glanced over his shoulder and pointed across the club at Jovi's troll of a boyfriend, determined that he wouldn't be getting any perks tonight if he did decide to stay. Leila stood on her tiptoes to see who Fin was pointing at, and nodded her head. "Right you are, Mr Avery," she said in her thick Yorkshire accent. "What can I get you, lovey?" She turned a bright smile on Jovi, and Fin relaxed as the younger girl ordered, turning his back to the bar to survey the room once more now that the night was progressing nicely. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, and they all looked incredible if Fin were honest. He liked to think himself the most handsome man in the room, but there were some who would give him a run for his money, and the women, well! His eyes settled on a tall brunette standing across the other side of the room. She was watching the band, and he had to admit she was stunning in a long gown, her hair pinned up. He'd never seen her before, but she seemed more than impressed with his club, and Fin found himself smiling, enjoying the admiration on her face. _______________________ tag: Jovian Isobel Corrine Rowle , @christine and everyone! notes: <3 outfit: Handsome as Hell template by izzy[googlefont="Allura"]

Post by Livia Eleanor Grace Burke on Jan 30, 2018 16:04:10 GMT
Starlight New Year Liv's sparkling pink lips curved into a smile at the thought of Dora being her sister. "I've put in so many good words for you, but he's stubborn as a mule," she played along with a heavy sigh. "There's always Lysander," she added as an afterthought. "Younger men are fine, right? I'll set you two up once he graduates in the summer." She would do no such thing. Well, she actually would if Dora seemed to like the idea, Sandy was as gorgeous as Loosh and as the baby of the family, had no pressures on him to marry and start a family just yet, Dora Burke would have a lovely ring to it. And her finger would certainly have a more than lovely ring to it if it was coming from the Burke fortune. Dora's delicate fingers were wrapped around Livvi's wrist as they ventured into the crowds, and the blonde allowed herself to be led towards Kit and his brother, expression one of skepticism at Dora's plans to get the Auror to dance with her. "Getting him on the dance floor and getting him to actually dance are two completely different things, honey," she shook her head, not at all convinced that Kit would dance with Dora for even half a second. As they approached the table, Liv gave the brothers a closer look. Kit was wearing red tonight, and it really suited him, gave him a bit of an exotic look about him, with the almost black hair and crazy green-gold eyes. He was just insanely good looking. His brother, on the other hand, had hair that you just wanted to pull, eyes like rich dark chocolate and an air of freedom about him that was in complete contrast to the stick that was always shoved up his brother's arse. They were both as beautiful as each other. Dora introduced them, but Liv already kind of knew Oliver from school, they had all been in the same year after all, and she was sure they'd exchanged polite smiles across the hallways at one point or other, but a fresh introduction was nice, since school had been a good while ago for them all now. "Devereaux," she offered Kit a dazzling smile, turning the same grin onto Oliver. "Devereaux," she chuckled at her own greeting, happy to take a back seat as Dora flourished in the spotlight. Livvi was a sociable creature, but Dora shone when she was out and about with people to charm, it was one of Liv's favourite things about the raven haired beauty. Using the moment, she slipped her hand inside her purse and pulled out her camera, taking a snap of Dora with the boys, her dress glittering in the lights from the chandeliers. _______________________ tag: Euphadora Rose Parkinson and everyone! notes: <3 outfit: Silver stunner! template by izzy[googlefont="Ruthie"]

Starlight New Year A new start Half a chance in life to find a new part Just a simple role that I can play
326 words Mood: Starstruck “ There was a harmony of voices, music, and clinking glasses. It was a sophisticated event full of sophisticated folks, if it weren’t for the music Christine might have run. But the piano player had her fixated and when the saxophone joined in Christine was rooted to the spot watching the pair, feeling the music echo in her body and in her heart.
She was so deep in the music she nearly forgot her purpose once again. She was approached just then by one of the servers. She took one of the glasses of champagne he was offering and after a moment of conversation he scanned the crowd, finally seeing the object of Christine’s interest, the server nodded toward Fin.
She followed the server’s gaze only to see a dark pair of eyes already fixed on her.
She thanked him, but kept her eyes on Fin. After a moment, she lifted her glass toward him. He was younger than she would have guessed. It was impressive, to be a manager at such a young age. She didn’t realize he was also the owner of the establishment and was therefore more impressive. The fact that Fin, not only owned the property, but also took the time to manage it was unusual. The wealthy could afford to throw money around and have someone else manage it, which is what most did, it was rare to see someone with their own hands invested.
Now that she knew who he was she was more at ease. There would be time for introductions, conversation, a desperate plea for a job later, right now it was enough to have a face. From what she could tell within the first fifteen minutes of being at Starlight was that it was a well-oiled machine. Passion moved through the place. She knew nothing of Fin’s character, his positive or negative attributes, but the man could run a club and that was all she needed to know.

Don't mistake my silence for ignorance, my calmness for acceptance or my kindness for weakness
Why did drinking not mix well with riding his bike? It bugged him to no end. Since he had bought it, it was irrelevant whether it be raining, snowing or hailing, he got his bike out and rode. It became like a drug for him, the freedom that he had wished for, the danger threading adrenaline rush that came with soaring to the skies on it, it was beyond comparison to mostly anything. In some ways, he didn’t even get that excited from sex. Well, not always. There were the ones that stood out, the girls that weren’t reserved and would go above and beyond to get what they wanted and he was more than willing to give it to them as long as they knew how to work for it. Sirius wasn’t one to play hard to get. Why would he? But he did like to tantalize his conquests, give too little and then more than the regular lass could handle. Sex was a game for him, like chess, and he played both too well and knew how to use his pawns and have the queen yielding at his feet. Sex was on his mind a lot. That and his bike. His monster however would have to sit this one out in order to let his inner rage enjoy the night. There would be drinking and, while still fun, it didn’t mix with driving. It weren’t the laws that stopped him, but simple logic. If you can’t stand without wobbling, how could you ride and stay away from cars, trees or manholes, especially at the speed he liked to ride at? It was common knowledge. A night out, while not the place he would have chosen, was still an invitation he could not say no to. The usual crowd of the Starlight Speakeasy might not shine too brightly in his eyes, but a night out with friends wasn’t something he could pass. While James left his stag days behind, he was still hunting, not for Mrs. Right, but for Mrs. Don’t-bother-unzipping-my-dress.Rummaging through his closet he realized that he didn’t have much to wear to an occasion that demanded a dress code. His attire was a mingle of muggle clothes, bike gear (that he was very fond of), work clothes and not much else. He dug in the three door closet, which had no extension charm on it nor did it need any, for something more appropriate, almost thinking to give up altogether and try a dive in James’s wardrobe. It wouldn’t have been a first. His hand was almost extricating itself from the back of the closet when it brushed against velvet and he remembered. Snatching it, the merlot colored jacket and throwing it on the bed after one swift look at it. Pants weren’t a bother much, as long as they were black, clean and tailored, not to mention with no wrinkles, they’d be fine. A white shirt and a simple bow-tie to complete the outfit and he was done.
Without bothering much on his hair, facial or not, he tossed it around, looked fine and he finished the look with a pair of black shoes, after he charmed them to be and stay clean, having been covered in dust besides his Hogwarts trunk. Getting dressed wasn’t much to worry about for him, a pair of jeans and an old t-shirt were something he’d use for mostly anything, leather jacket to top and some boots, but when he wanted to, he cleaned up nice. Quite the Black he was in that area. While dress clothes fit him like a tape measure, he looked just as fine in track pants and a tank top. The only think that changed was what people saw when they looked at him. However he wasn’t bothered by other people’s opinions of him. Sirius stopped doing that entirely ever since he befriended James and realized that there was nothing wrong with him.
Exiting his loft, he went to cast a swift charm on the door, and remembered that his wand wasn't on him. A smack to his head, and turning back, grabbed the ash wooden wand, walked out of his loft again and cast the charm. With living in a relatively muggle part of London, he would tend to not use magic as often and would do chores the muggle way, especially with the experience he had in scrubbing from Hogwarts. He did use magic on other things that the muggle way had little to no alternative, but he was mostly mixing that two all the time.
The alley next to his building was, as per usual, deserted, quite shady if one were to wonder there at night, but perfect for turning on the spot and disapparating with a pop. The Whimsic Alley was where wizarding night life happened in London and a place he, quite amusingly, stayed away from, or rarely ever graced with his presence. The fact that it was magical wasn’t a problem for him, but what was were some of the people that ventured there. In his youth he might have needed to prove himself in maybe not the best of ways, prove that he wasn’t like his family or like other purebloods that gave plenty examples from Slytherin House, maybe he did go above and beyond to make any and all aware of the fact that he didn’t care about blood, or status, or money, or even house if one was decent enough (had a tendency to not befriend Slytherins out of spite), but now school was over. For him the purebloods were mostly separated into two groups. Those who would have his head on a spike for his views and political position that he would fight to defend if the opposition provoked him, or those who only saw the family behind the name, didn’t even bother to get his first name, would get stuck on the surname and form an impression. Sirius didn’t like those people and so, he’d choose muggle London any day of the week. But this was New Years Eve and James wanted to come here, for whatever reason he may have had.
Standing in line like the common folk he smoked a few cigarettes as girls next to him would either look his way enticed or annoyed, as he took steps closer, one by one, until he was next. With no date he thought it wouldn’t be easy for him to get it, with no invitation or company to boot, he half expected to be turned around. The man had a list that he most certainly wasn’t on. “Name!” came the only word from the rather large man before him, a man Sirius knew better than to try to tackle. While quick with a wand, his physical training was nowhere near experienced enough to tackle that. ”Sirius.” while unsure of the pending permission to enter, he said his name confidently. A card all too easy for him to play, but the man just looked at him questioningly. “Yeah, your name!” a chuckle escaped Sirius before repeating "Sirius, that's the name." the man only looked more puzzled "Is that your surname?" Sirius wasn’t fond of using his surname in usual situations, not even happy that he was known as trainee Auror Black, as that came with much mistrust in the Auror department. A Black wanting to be an Auror. The scrutiny he got from most colleagues and staff was beyond annoying. “Black!” he said rather begrudgingly. At which point the man stood aside, almost apologetically, undid the red velvet rope hastily and ventured him in. One that only saw the name. At least he got in, he thought to himself as he entered the establishment.
The place looked down right bellowing New Years Eve festivities. Crystals, confetti fountains and silvery details decorated the whole club, while on a normal day it might be way too much, for the night it seemed appropriate, while not to his personal liking, but the music was good, the people enjoyed themselves and the mood seemed amazing. Sirius was already bobbing his head at the rhythm. Thinking that James wasn’t there yet, although he was rather late himself, he went for the bar, passing the waiters that held champagne for him almost as soon as he walked in. Sirius wasn’t fond of the drink, or rather anything bubbly. It’d be whiskey for him. On the rocks. Cool. As the barkeep served him a glass of Double Black Label with two granite cubes in it, he saw a red haired woman a few people away from him talking to a black haired man. Taking his drink, he went over and without bothering to check, he walked in front of her, placing himself between the girl and the boy expecting to see James, drink in hand. Something he'd do on a regular basis with the couple as they spent too much time together as it was. The man that stood before him, wasn’t James in the slightest.
Looking at him wide eyed, Sirius raised his drink completely baffled to see an old Slytherin rival of his and one pureblood that he was completely not excited to come across. Fear didn't unsettle him it was only the fact that the whole situation was completely awkward. Sirius was fighting bursting out laughing. ”Great party mate, cheerios!” he said grinning and while the party was great, facing the man was hilarious in his mind. He let go of whoever the girl was as it most certainly wasn’t Lily, but he didn’t bother to look as he turned to leave, now really wanting James to be here so he could laugh his ass off.

The dancing was fun and intense. She wasn't afraid to get herself close to Fin, pressing against him and turning about in order to press against him with other godly gifts that she possessed. She rather hoped her boyfriend was watching and growing more and more jealous by the second but it wasn't as if she was doing anything wrong, she was only dancing and having a good time. He'd been the one to have the tantrum in the middle of the club the second they'd arrived and he was damn well lucky that Fin hadn't just gone about throwing him out of the place. Jovi would have loved watching that unfold but it was more amusing to think her boyfriend was getting jealous over a guy Jovi would never have much to do with while she was still a student. If he'd only been a year older than her than perhaps she would have seen how far she could take this little thing they had, because there was definitely something there, but with him being older and a business owner it just seemed far too sleazy for her tastes, however she was graduating at the end of June. Who knew what was in the cards once she'd joined the ministry and had her eye on a spot amongst the ranks of the death eaters, alongside Fin.
Jovi was more than happy to get a drink with Fin, hell she was about more than happy to do anything with Fin if it'd make her boyfriend jealous. She gave Fin a suggestive smirk and whispered a little something in his ear as his hand came down and he offered her his arm like a true gentleman. She slipped her hand through the little gap and made sure to cozy on up to him as he escorted her from the dance floor. Jovi noticed her boyfriend watching, jealousy most certainly was not his colour but he was being supported every now and then by one of her friends but not for long, they didn't want to put up with such a dull loser and Jovi could hardly blame them. In fact if they had tolerated his behaviour and made excuses for him in any way then she would have seen to it that before they all arrived back at Hogwarts in the new year, everyone would know the most vicious and hurtful rumours about these so called friends of hers. Some would be true, some would be fake, it would all depend on the worth of the person and the secret.
Stopping at the bar Jovi looked over her shoulder towards her boyfriend and then flipped her head back around to look at Fin, loose strands of hair tickling around her neck, flirting with glances and smiles, body language and touch. Gently she caressed the back of her hand along the outside of his upper arm, trailing the back of her index finger over his jacket. It wasn't like he'd feel it but then again she wasn't really doing it for Fin, but he seemed to be playing along, "You're such a darling," She told him, tilting her head a little, "You should probably charge him triple. He can afford it." Jovi gave Fin a wink and turned to the barmaid that had asked what she wanted. Jovi lent forward, popping her hip out a little to make her arse that little more inviting as she placed her order. She wasn't going to let her boyfriend forget what he was missing out on, not even for a second. She wanted his attention on her the entire night even though she knew he'd try and play her at her own game, find some other girl to get close and cozy with to make her jealous in return, the annoying thing was it would probably work, even if she had Fin for company he wasn't someone she was going to sleep with. The short tempered, occasionally dim witted guy she called a boyfriend was.
After Jovi placed the order for her drink she stepped back, away from the bar, making sure her boyfriend was able to eye up her backside through the corwd when they all moved about, leaving a gap for him to take a glance. No doubt he'd be furious that she was spending so much time with Fin, not only spending time iwth him but dancing closely, getting drinks with him and flirting, even if it was just for show. She wasn't kissing the bloke, she wasn't doing anything she ought not be but her thoughts were cut short by some bumbling idiot stepping between herself and Fin, looking at Fin and his back completely to Jovi. She'd never been so pissed off before! She had to stumble back a little to avoid being touched by whoever the hell it was that had decided to invade their personal space. For a moment she'd hoped it was her boyfriend, his jealousy over her spending time with Fin finally getting the better of him but no. It was Sirius Black and he was soon off again. She scowled at Black as he ran away like the shitty little coward that he was just as her drink arrived, placed down on top of a napkin on the bar. "The bloody nerve of that filthy blood traitor." She said angrily but keeping her voice low. She rather didn't like to talk about blood status when out in public, it just wasn't the sort of thing you could get away with, but knowing Fin was a death eater she was more than relaxed with venting her frustrations about such a disgusting and vile human being having touched her person, her rage building even more so as she shot a glance to her boyfriend, only to find him laughing as he looked at her, his arms folded over his chest as he leant back a little, looking directly at her. Jovi took a deep breath to calm herself because it was the proper thing to do, but once she was able to don a cloak and death eater mask, she wouldn't have to control herself quite as much, she could get herself masked and covered and crucio the filth and leave him to rot in the back alleys like the rat that he was.

Starlight New Year Fin tried to disguise a laugh as a cough when Jovi told him her boyfriend could afford triple the prices of the drinks at the Speakeasy. Blue eyes found the idiot and studied him as he sulked with the rest of Jovian's friends, who were all no doubt pinned tightly under her thumb. "If he has that much money, you'd think he'd get his nose fixed. Is it always that fat or does he just get punched in the face a lot?" Fin didn't care if he was being bitchy, he wouldn't be holding back his opinion of the twerp. If he could try and put Jovi off of him for good then that would be an ideal outcome, and holding back his thoughts on how ugly the lad was wouldn't make that happen. Also, he did just genuinely wonder if the younger guy was so ugly because he rubbed that many people up the wrong way with his temper that he got beat up a lot. That would explain it. Then again, not everyone could be as tall, slender and just beautiful as Fin was. His parents might have been rubbish but they certainly looked good, and it was something Fin had always been thankful for, never more so than in situations like tonight, when he felt like a King surrounded by scruffy peasants, gowns and suits aside. The brunette across the room, the one admiring the band, noticed him noticing her, and she lifted her glass to him in acknowledgement. Who the hell was she? He'd never seen her around, and you tended to get a lot of familiar faces when you ran a drinking establishment, she certainly wasn't one of them. He gave a subtle nod in her direction, not wanting to seem rude, but having no time for strange women tonight, unless they were going to end up in his bed after midnight. The mystery brunette was beautiful, but she wasn't the sexy sort who would be likely to drop her knickers for a charming smile. Speaking of sexy, Fin's gaze drifted south as Jovi thrust one hip out, her cute backside on full display, no doubt for her boyfriend, but Fin thought she'd likely appreciate any and all men in the room admiring her. He couldn't stop the image popping into his head of her in that see through nightgown thing she had worn a while back in his kitchen. He'd not wanted to stare then, either, but he couldn't deny she was a hot little thing. His admiration was cut short by someone stepping between them. Fin's eyes flashed up to the face of the intruder, jaw clenching when he realised who it was. Sirius Black. Annoying little shithead with nothing better to do than act like a total prick at all times. He had strolled right up to them as though they were old friends, but the look on his face when he looked at Fin told him he had been expecting to see someone else standing at the bar. Fin's mouth dropped open, eyes flashing with irritation at how rude Sirius was being, just cutting in between Fin and Jovi like that, but before he could utter a word of a threat, Black merely complimented the party and scurried off like a puppy with his tail between his legs. Jovi was pissed off, and Fin glared after the idiot, wondering why he didn't have stricter rules on his door. Maybe he'd be adding a few names to the barred list so riff-raff like Black and his cronies couldn't just swan in and drag the levels of class down into the sewer where they lived. "Shhh," he waved a quick finger at Jovi, who was muttering about blood traitors, albeit quietly, but it would only take one person to overhear and the club's reputation could be ruined from word of mouth. "I'll see to it that he never sets foot in here again," he told her, tearing his gaze from the crowd where Black had disappeared, back to Jovi, who was still disgruntled. Fin should have been more disgruntled than he really was. As it was, he had a tight reign on himself for the night. Nobody would ruffle his feathers today. Tomorrow he would rage at home about Black and his idiot friends and how they were never allowed in his club again, and anyone who dared let them in would be fired on the spot and never work again. For now, he merely nodded to Leila behind the bar, reaching a hand out to take his drink from her as she passed it over, and turned his back to the room as he drank. "Don't let it spoil your night, love, you've got enough fuckwits to worry about already."_______________________ tag: Jovian Isobel Corrine Rowle , @christine , @phouxee and everyone! notes: <3 outfit: Handsome as Hell template by izzy[googlefont="Allura"]

| O llie shifted his weight before leaning into the side of the table, in mid motion of bringing his glass to his lips when he paused for a moment. It was hard to ignore just how uncomfortable his brother was currently, fighting every muscle that wanted to toss the glass over his shoulder and get the man back home to his book. Was he being selfish? He knew that Kit wanted nothing to do with this party, but he trick him into coming anyways. Yes, he had motives for coming to this party…but he also wanted to spend some time with his brother and get him to live it up a little. All while trying to convince himself not to feel guilty for bring the man to a overly quint party, he noticed the cooperative smirk that his brother gave him. It was surprisingly soothing for him, allowing him to know that his brother knew he was being selfish and was willing to put up with him for a night. Kit was too good to him, and he certainly did not deserve his kindness for all the pranks he has pulled on the man. He will take it however, returning a small smirk before bring his glass close to his lips again. "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, even if I do feel like my head is going to explode from the noise in here,"With a playful eyes roll at the comment, they both took a sip of the champagne at the same time…sharing the same look of disgust while Ollie quickly placed the flute down on the table. “I don’t know about you, but I could use real drink,” He joked, wondering what they offered on tap here and how much this was going to cost to get him to get his brother piss drunk to where to might actually have some fun. When he noticed two familiar faces making a bee line towards their table, he decided to hold off on heading to the bar to watch as the entertainment was about to begin. Kit probably getting the hint something was coming by the smug smirk that curled on his lips, mostly because he knew they weren’t coming over to talk to him. Standing next to his brother, he was invisible and he was fine with that because he got to witness people attempt to flirt with Kit and try to hold back laughter while his brother squirms. He would eventually step in to save him, his cue was the either Kit’s blood red face or the throbbing vein popping out of his neck. His diversions just as entertaining. Dora wrapping her arms around Kit, causing the pair to exchange look before Ollie let out a chuckle while being reintroduced to his old school mate, Liv. “Ello again,” he saluted, smiling alittle too big when Dora accused him of dragging Kit here. “Sorry love, I can not trade family secrets I am afraid,” He gave a wink to his brother before a shade of blond caught the corner of his eye. His attention being drawn to the back of a woman in a silver dress, his dark eyes being drawn to her wiggling hips. He already had a clue as to who the booty belongs to, but to make sure, he looked at the other at the table and noticed other familiar faces. She was here… He was suddenly stunned by a flash of light from the corner of his eyes, his attention back on the group at their table. “Damn, I think my eyes were close, can we take the picture again?” He joked, already stretching his arm out to make bunny ears behind Kit’s head. |

Starlight New Year Ollie's comment about getting a real drink only made Kit pull another face. "Or just lemonade. Maybe orange juice," he said hopefully, glancing at the bar and wondering if they would serve coffee. That might help with the headache that was forming, either that or it would make him wired and even more likely to be irritable for the night. Maybe orange juice would be best. His thoughts about what soft drinks he could have instead of champagne were interrupted by a girly voice exclaiming "Kit-Kat!" Kit found himself smiling at the sparkling sight of Dora Parkinson. She was someone he had a soft spot for, if only because he'd saved her life a few years back and she was actually a sweet girl in small doses. She did have a fondness for innuendos and making him uncomfortable with her flirty nature, but he had learned to block out those moments and pretend they weren't happening. Right now, he was content to return her hug, strong arms wrapping around her tiny glittering frame as she hugged him and planted a kiss on his cheek. "Dora. You look lovely."His attention moved to the blonde girl Dora had come over with, and he recognised her with a small jolt of discomfort. She was the photographer he saw around sometimes. She'd taken his picture once for an article her magazine were doing on Aurors, and he was left in no doubt after the short event that she had been eyeing him up the entire time. He didn't fancy her, and he really hoped she wouldn't be attempting any flirty looks or words tonight, Dora would be bad enough without having two of them on his tail. "Hey," he greeted with a small wave as Dora tucked her arm into his as though she was his date for the night. Ha. Ha ha ha. As if he'd be staying long enough to need a date for the night. His eyes flashed to his brother to see how he was handling the new company, but Ollie seemed relaxed as ever, though Kit couldn't help but notice his eyes flickering to the backside of a blonde across the room. Well, that would be Kit getting ditched soon, then, if Ollie had taken a fancy to a girl in the club, there was no way Kit would hold him back, and it would give him the perfect excuse to leave early. He'd only encourage it, really. A flash drew his attention and he laughed, blinking, realising that Liv had taken a sneaky picture of them. Ollie insisted on another picture being taken and Kit had to agree, he'd prefer to have a picture from the night where his brother wasn't sleeping on his feet, and where Kit himself wasn't gawping at some blonde girl's bum across the room, lost in thought. He pulled Dora tighter into his side, his other hand reaching for his wand. "Yes, let's do another one," he agreed, giving Ollie a playful glare at the fingers he knew were behind his head like little ears. "Livia, you need to be on it, too," he told the tall blonde, nodding for her to come and stand beside them as he flicked his wand to levitate her camera in front of them. He waited until she was in place at Ollie's side before giving another flick to press the button, what he hoped was a convincing smile on his face. He knew Dora would look fabulous on it no matter what, he was sure somebody as cute as her would know exactly what faces to pull. Kit often looked moody or serious on pictures, but he tried for a grin, not wanting to disappoint his brother tonight. _______________________ tag: Euphadora Rose Parkinson , Livia Eleanor Grace Burke , @oli and everyone! notes: Outfit <3 template by izzy [googlefont="Rock Salt"]

The stupid blood traitor was gone but Jovi ignored Fin's shushing. She was being careful enough and he was just being overly cautious and besides, he was thinking it too, he just wasn't saying it. You didn't join an organisation like the Death Eaters if you didn't mind the blood traitors hopping around all over the place, pratting around and acting as if they owned everything. Well things would be changing for the blood traitors. They were going to suffer worse than the muggles if Jovi had her way. Purposefully turning your back on your pureblooded roots needed severe punishing and while death was a tempting fate for those belligerent and arrogant, no good sewer rats, it would only be wasting more pure blood. Jovi fully believed they should be held against their will and used to build up the population of pureblooded families and any further blood traitors from their lines would be culled and the parent responsible beheaded with a dull knife over the course of a couple good, excruciating hours. Or just a quick killing curse would be just as effective.
In Jovi's opinion seeing to it that Black and his friends never stepped into Fin's establishment again was not punishment enough. He was a death eater and she rather hoped he'd get far more creative than just banning them from the club. While Jovi as attempting to calm down, even a little, it was kind of hard to do with comments like that but she forced a smile, knowing Fin could have been spending his time with just about anybody else at the club tonight but instead he'd kept her company after her stupid Tom or Tim or whatever had caused a scene and he'd even danced with her and got her drinks covered for the night, something she probably wouldn't take advantage of all too much, however had she been with Dora it would have been a different story all together. She would have happily knocked back as many drinks as she could handle between dances and toilet breaks.
"Spoil my night? Here with the handsome owner of this swinging establishment and getting drinks. I can't see how insignificant little people could ruin such a night." Of course they could but Jovi was smiling, getting herself back in to the party mood. With her drink in hand she raised her glass a little, "Cheers." She smiled, clinking her glass to his before taking a sip and looking out to the dance floor for any sign of that disgusting little perversion of nature but he was gone, the crowd was too many and she didn't much feel like ruining her night further by thinking of the stupid little prick so she looked back to Fin, taking another sip of her cocktail as she watched him over the rim of the glass, wondering just what it was he was doing here with her but she dared not question it out loud in case he ran off, leaving her to have to go back to her friends who were all rather slow and uninspiring.

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
Ollie was being adorable and Kit was obviously comforted at the sight of Dora – at least that was her perception as he wrapped his hunky arms around her and complimented her looks. It was all very casual for Kit, who she generally found tightly wound but so sodding hot that it didn’t much matter how awkward he appeared. To add to his hot Auror persona, he had saved Dora’s life some years back and if that doesn’t make a girl want to drop her panties then really nothing would. In her sixth year, Dora had been knocked unconscious during an attack when Death Eaters brought the ceiling down on some muggleborns. She had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time, but it left her broken and bloodied on a shop floor and had it not been for Kit, Dora was well aware she could have died there. He even came to check in on her at the hospital and while she never confirmed this, she suspected he might have heard that her parents had not bothered coming to see her while she was in the coma or at any time before the healers released her, actually. Dora had plenty of friends to look after her while she recuperated but having a sexy young Auror literally pick you up and carry you to the hospital, then return to ensure you were doing well, that was something Dora wouldn’t ever forget.
Dora smiled cheerfully as everyone greeted each other. She was too busy looking at Kit to notice Ollie staring at some young thing on the dance floor and by the time she caught on that there was anything else in the room to bother attending to, a bright flash went off. It was a very familiar sensation for Dora; Liv’s camera flash. Unlike the boys, Dora knew she looks fantastic in candid shots. She looked fantastic all the time, and the camera simply loved her. To absolutely no one’s surprise, Dora adored having her picture taken. She was actually trying (struggling) to become a model and although Livia had no problem with staging little photoshoots for the black haired beauty, it was her older sister Lilith that actually determined what went into the magazine and what was left on the editing room floor. Thus far, Dora was always the latter but tonight wasn’t the night for such pessimistic thoughts. Tonight was about starting anew, getting a little tipsy, and convincing Kit to dance with her for at least one song. And apparently getting a little photographic proof that Kit could have a bit of fun without having a stroke.
Ollie asked for another picture and Kit worked his magic – literally – to levitate the camera so that Liv could get in on the fun as well. Dora looked over her shoulder at the camera and arched her back as she made sexy eyes at the camera, pressing her body closer against Kit’s so that Livia could get comfortably into the frame (and just to press up against Kit). The camera flashed again and Dora relaxed her pose. “I want a copy of that,” she told Liv excitedly as a waiter passed by.
“Rupert!” she called out to get the man’s attention. “Four shots please, love.” Dora looked around at the motley crew assembled with her, deciding the best option to make an easy job for Rupert tonight while still getting them well on their way to plastered. “Tequilla.” She said decidedly. “You got it, Dor,” Rupert replied, and he headed off to the nearby bar to fetch their drinks. Looking back to her mates, she grinned. “First round’s on me, and you have to accept it or else I’ll be crushed. You don’t want me pouting on New Year’s Eve, do you Kit-Kat?” she asked with wide doe eyes and her bottom lip just starting to protrude. She focused her pitiful look on Kit because she knew Livia and Oliver would have no quarrels with taking a free shot of anything, whereas Kit was probably wanting a hot tea and a quiet room right about now. Rupert returned quickly – the perks of working at a pub weren’t many but the quick service on her days off made it totally worth it for Dora until she could get a more respectable position – and set four shot glasses on the tall table in front of them. “Thank you, handsome,” she cooed at the waiter. “No problem, dollface.” Rupert was quickly called away by a group of excited witches and Dora picked up a shot and raised her glass. “To 1979, may you be a bloody brilliant year!” Dora threw back her head and the shot and scrunched up her face as the liquid went down her throat, burning the whole way down. “Wooooo.”
She was having a great time and the night was still young. “I think Ollie wants to go dance.” Dora had priorities, and drinking took priority over commenting on the fact that Ollie had been watching some witch on the dance floor and Kit had obviously caught him staring. “You want us come with you, Big O?” She gave Ollie a pointed look and gently nodded her head ‘yes’ so that he would catch on to the fact that he needed to use those brotherly persuasions of his to assist her in getting Kit on the dance floor. Then Ollie would be free to hussle and bump his way over to the blonde in the skimpy dress.

Starlight New Year The boys welcomed Liv and Dora quite warmly, and she was surprised to see Kit's face light up a bit at the presence of their raven friend. Dora had that effect on people. Liv knew the tiny girl could be annoying at times, it was understandable, but Liv never found her annoying at all, and seeing how the likes of more uptight people even welcomed her company (at first) only reminded Liv why she valued Dora's friendship so much. She was lovable, and effortlessly so, everywhere she went she could make a friend without even trying, and it was just amazing to watch. There was a rather large smile on the blonde's face as she listened to the conversation flow, blinking in surprise when Oliver asked for another picture and her camera was floated from her grasp. She fought the urge to snatch it out of the air and cradle it like a baby, feeling more than a little bit worried for it's safety, but then it was being controlled by an Auror, someone who was highly trained with his wand - oh, how she imagined his wand work to be bloody incredible - so it was probably silly to worry too much. She narrowed her eyes at Kit. "Drop it and you're in trouble," she muttered at him, hiding the mild threat beneath the veil of a humorous smile. She squeezed into shot with an adorable grin just as the flash went off, and immediately moved back to her pride and joy to tuck it safely back into her tiny purse, winking at Dora as she asked for a copy of the picture. "I'll send you all a copy," she nodded, "Yours will be framed, and poster sized." Her subtle teasing wouldn't go unnoticed by Dora, who blatantly fancied the pants off of Kit, but she hoped the Devereaux brothers would be oblivious to the meaning behind her words, though by the way Dora was draping herself over the Auror, it probably wouldn't be hard to guess. Oliver, on the other hand, had eyes for someone else. A cute wiggling butt across the room, and everyone noticed him staring. Liv laughed, agreeing with Dora that she was happy to dance. "Come on, Oliver," she said, linking her arm through his and pulling him towards the dance floor. "Let's see if we can bump and grind our way closer to the hottie you're drooling over." She gave him a knowing grin and stopped her tugging of him not far from the small blonde, beginning to dance to the music that was keeping everyone in good spirits, and leaving Kit in the clutches of Dora. Even if Dora didn't get her dance, Liv was happy to have a quick spin with Oliver. _______________________ tag: @oli , Christopher Erebus Devereaux , Euphadora Rose Parkinson and everyone! notes: <3 outfit: Silver stunner! template by izzy[googlefont="Ruthie"]

| T his night was getting better for him every passing second. He managed to get his brother to leave the house to attend a party. Now he gets to witness the once damsel in distress: Dora, flirt with Kit and who seems to being dealing with it rather well. So much so that it caused him to reach over the table to grab his brother’s flute of champagne and give it a sniff to make sure he wasn’t drugged. All for a laugh of course. And now the reason he wanted to come in the first place was here and now he was waiting for his opening to go speak to her. But first, he had to entertain the group that was gathered at their table. They all started to pose to take another picture, his brother knowing him so well that he had to abort the bunny ears. When Kit worked his magic to angle the camera, he reached out for Livia. He tucked the pretty blonde into his side while draping his arm over her shoulder, giving the best smoldering look he could while pressing his shoulder into his brothers. The flash blinding him for a moment, causing the vampire to blink it few times before rubbing his eyes. The girls joking about having a copy, pretty sure he could have picked up on the inner meaning and he stopped himself before he got a mental picture that would imprint in his brain. "Four shots please, love. Tequila. First round’s on me, and you have to accept it or else I’ll be crushed. You don’t want me pouting on New Year’s Eve, do you Kit-Kat?”Dora was his personal savior right now when she ordered a round for the table. He tilts his head to enter his brother peripheral vision to get his attention, poking out his bottom lip as he whimpered out, “Yeah Kit-kat…don’t want to make the pretty lady upset do you…what is one little shot eh?” he ended with a coy smirk, the shots already being placed on the table for them. He took a hold of one and held it up while Dora gave out a cheer, “Aye,” he agreed, clanking their glasses together before tossing the shot back, feeling it burn the whole way down. “I think Ollie wants to go dance.””I do?” He blurted out before thinking, noticing Dora’s pointed gaze at him and mirrored her nod, “ Oh right, I do” He gave a rather toothy smile in hopes to make up for his trip up, can almost feel the look on him from the corner of his eye. "Come on, Oliver,"The girls now taking over, Liv linking arms with him before leading him off a bit to leave the others behind. The boy chuckled as his hand reached down to take Liv’s and gave her a quick spin. “ I was slow on the uptake huh? He joked on himself as he pulled the blonde in close and started to dance with her in rhythm of the music. "Let's see if we can bump and grind our way closer to the hottie you're drooling over."Her grin caused him to bow his head in defeat, almost like being caught red handed. He picked up his head and turned his eyes back to the table that Echo was standing at still. “ You are going to be my wing woman eh?” he asked while turning his gaze back to Liv, pulling her in close as the song ended and it turned into a slower song. His hands in respectable places on her back as he lead her into a slow dance. |

Starlight New Year Shots. Wonderful. This was the night that just kept on giving, wasn't it. His eyes darted between Dora and Ollie as they ganged up on him, drilling it home that Dora would be hurt if he refused. That was a cop out, a complete and utter cop out, but what could he do about it? If it had been in his every day environment and someone tried to push him into doing something he didn't want to, they'd get a firm "no", not with a thank you, and he'd get on with his day and not give it another thought. This was a different world from his day to day life, normal rules didn't apply here, another reason he didn't like nights out, it was harder to refuse people without being the party pooper, the bore, the awkward arsehole. Between Dora's puppy dog eyes, and Ollie's gleeful expression, he really didn't have much choice, did he? Picking up the tiny glass, he clenched his jaw, glanced at his three companions, and threw it down the back of his neck, gulping the horrible taste down and frowning as it burned his throat. Disgusting. "There," he said, slamming the glass down on the table. "No more." As if anyone would listen to that. Kit found himself wishing for another round of shots when Dora announced that Ollie looked like he wanted to dance and they should all join him. No. No, Ollie didn't want to dance. Panicked eyes fixed on his brother, who cheekily agreed that he did want to dance, though he didn't have much say in it either as Livia was already leading him off towards the dance floor leaving Kit alone with Dora. "Thanks Ol," he muttered moodily. If there was ever a time to use his enhanced speed to run away, this was it. "I, uh," he mumbled, a hand running through his hair as the stress began to set in. "I'm not really a dancer," he tried again, staring down at Dora with what he hoped was an expression that said "please listen to me and don't make me dance". This was Dora, though, and he knew he wouldn't get away with it that easily. "I mean," he sighed, glancing at Ollie and Liv as they twirled and just looked natural out there, and thinking how terrible he would look beside them. "Maybe just one dance..." What was he doing!? Whatever was making him think that if he offered a compromise of one dance then he'd get away with avoiding the dance floor for the rest of the night, it wasn't going to go down that way. He had rhythm, that wasn't an issue, he just wasn't comfortable with people watching him while he danced. Having eyes on him while he shook his arse to music just wasn't something he would ever be comfortable with. Slow songs were fine, but the song that was playing right now was not slow. This was not going to end well. _______________________ tag: Euphadora Rose Parkinson , Livia Eleanor Grace Burke , @oli and everyone! notes: Outfit <3 template by izzy [googlefont="Rock Salt"]
